To understand pool ownership in Texas, we looked at homes sold in the North Texas area for the last year, ending in June 2024. The data we used includes almost 28,000 homes across 29 cities in North Texas.
We then looked at home sales with and without pools by city to identify the top 10 cities for pool ownership in North Texas. Along with identifying the top 10, we also wanted to look at what cities show the lowest level of pool ownership

Which cities show up in our list of the Bottom 10 Cities for Pool Ownership in North Texas, and what do they have in common?
Five of the cities on this list are large, high density areas with lower median household incomes and smaller home sizes. These include Mesquite, Denton, Grand Prairie, Garland, and Arlington.
Forney and Wylie are small suburbs on the far outreaches of what would be considered the DFW metro. Both are growing and have a lot of new construction, but the home price per square foot is low relative to other fast growing suburbs like Prosper and Celina.
